Nothing compares to remarkable sparkle of a diamond ring, but even the clearest and most pristine diamonds can look like they’re losing their shine over time. If you have a Natalie K ring, rest assured it’s not the diamond. What your ring needs is a little TLC. And while a professional clean is advised at least twice a year, with a full check up to tighten prongs and settings, a quick at home clean can keep your ring in spectacular shape between visits.

Here are 3 easy ways to clean your engagement ring with everyday items:

1. Liquid Dish Soap Pour a small amount of liquid dish soap in a small bowl, add warm water. Take a soft bristled tooth brush, or soft bristled children’s tooth brush for an even gentler touch, and dip it in the solution. Gently scrub your ring and all of its crevices with the brush and rinse. Depending on the how much residue has built up over time you can allow it to soak in the solution, pre-scrub, for a few minutes. Then rinse. Voila!

2. Baking Soda

Pour a small amount of baking soda into a dish, mix with enough warm water to create a thick paste. Gently rub the paste over your entire ring making sure to get into all the crevices. After leaving it on for a short moment rinse in warm water. Tada!

3. Ammonia

Pour 2 parts water and 1 part ammonia into a small bowl. Place your ring in the solution and allow to soak for up to 5 minutes. Take out and rinse. Nothing but shine!
